With an official GDPR support ad-don from PrestaShop, you don’t have to buy anything in order for your shop or business comply with the law.
Jump-starting a new online store can be really exciting, but it doesn’t come without some important considerations. I’m going to cover the following topics in this article:
PrestaShop GDPR Configuration
In the back office, click Modules → Module Manager and find the Official GDPR compliance
add-on. Next, click the big Configure button to explore available GDPR settings.

A list of all GDPR compliant add-ons can be found at the Personal data management
tab.
The Manage Customer Data block is where you can view all of your customer’s data. Enter an email address and you will be presented with a list of all user data known to PrestaShop or its plugins.

For special requests like deletion of the account and all information about the user, you can head into this section and click the Remove data
button.

On the next tab — Consent checkbox customization,
you can customize the privacy notification copy for all of your stores in a single step!

This tab — Customer activity tracking,
shows any data removal or preview requests from your store users.

How GDPR Applies To PrestaShop
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was a new European Union law that regulates how institutions and businesses can use personal data in Europe.
It’s been around for about two years now, which was launched on May 25th, 2018. But it still applies to all companies residing within the bloc unless they’re exempted. The most important thing you need to know before collecting any info from an EU- resident person is what kind of access their information has; because once we have that then everything else should fall into place pretty easily.
